Kanchanaburi, with its charming western city, is the home of the internationally known “Bride Over The River Kwai”, as well as other important historical and memorial plance of the World War II such as the Death

Railway and the cemeteries of the Prisoners of War (POW). One of the must-sees for all travelers is the 22 memorial roads leading to the River Kwai Bridge which are accordingly named to the 22 nationalities of the Allied forces such as the England Road and the America Road.

Kanchanaburi is famous not only because of its important role in world history or in cultural development but also of the native charm of this city. Nature is so scenic and stunning here that many visitors have to add this province to their destination lists especially those who love the waterfalls, with the most popular one, Huay Mae Khamin Waterfalls. Moreover, several caves are also enticing to visit which are gracefully created by nature. If waterfalls are mentioned when talking about popular natural sites of Kanchanaburi, the rivers here have to be proudly presented too. The four main rivers of Kanchanaburi are Kwai Noi, Kwai Yai, Mae Klong and Lam Ta Poen. Rafting along these riversides is a very enjoyable activity for many tourists especially the great scenic veiw of Kwai Noi and Kwai Yai riverbanks. Dams like Sri, Khao Laem, Vachiralongkorn and Tha Tung Na are also popular places for retreats and recreation.

I was treated truly as a guest, the accommodation was very good, good value for money and the staff were very helpful. I will certainly use this hotel again.

Hotel is average but location is good as it is in the town area and close to facilities. Bathrooms need upgrade. Breakfast spread is fairly good and the staff are friendly and good service.

Booking confirmation can be improved by immediate confirmation rather than to wait 48 hrs.

Good locataded + always smily staff. The waste management was urgently needed to be improved. Bugs every where, even in our room had many fly + spiders. This hotel are suit for group of traveler not for FIT. The nearest restaurant was 20 minutes away by private car. If you go there with private car make sure your gas tank is always full, gas station in this area was over charge.

We loved our stay in Kanchanaburi and the River Kwai Hotel was excellent. The staff were very friendly and the hotel had all the conveniences. They booked our trip to Hellfire Pass for the Anzac Day Service and everything was great.

Sawadee as always provides an excellent service. I highly recommend them. Thank you for all your efficiency and great advice too.

Loved it. I would stay again if I was headed that way. You must have your own transport though as it is a way out. Lovely facilities and excellent value for money. (If you book a raft just unscrew the light bulb outside before you go to bed or it will seem like day all night).

excellent as always

This was the second stay within three weeks and I ve been impressed both times. The hotel is small and focusses on the raft rooms, there are only 2 rooms available on dry land in the main building. The food in the restaurant is good and very reasonably priced. Staff are warm and friendly but efficient.

We stayed 2 nights in a river cabin, one word, Fantastic. The resturant food and service very good. Has a floating pool compound, so that you are actually in the river Kwai, but can not get carried away in the strong current. Is about 55kms, out of Kanchanburri. Would stay again.

VFM alround, facilities VG, staff friendly and helpful, room good apart from bathroom which needed updating, food good both Thai and European, location good for visitng the sites and shopping. Would experience again no problems.

Service VG apart from the cumpulsory meal for Sangcran which apparently only applied to Sawadee bookings and were the only couple that turned up for dinner in a 200 seater dining room.

The room itself was nice enough if a little tired as is the rest of the Hotel. The Sonkran boat cruise was an hour too long at 2 1/2hrs and was very hot and sweaty. The main thing to let this pplace down was the Spa, if it can called that. The facilities were a disgrace for a hotel of this size and stature and the service was a joke. The lady was on her phone during the massage and kept leaving the room to talk to her friend. If you want a 5 star stay in Kanchanaburi DONT stay here as i only discovered whilst i was there there is a Beuatiful new hotel Dheva Mantra where id be staying if returned located just up the road.

The location is very good indeed. Perfect location, perfect view, perfect environment. Room quality is value for money. Just small things such as; the water in the shower room doesn t work if the room next door is using it in the same time. Room is very hot in the daytime, even we turned on the air-con for few hours (It would be great if staff could prepare the room before guest arrives). Hotel service is just average. You cannot expect staff there to be very friendly and smile like 4-5 stars resort. Overall is good for me. I would recommend this resort to others. BTW can you provide TV in the room???

Hotel staff were very friendly and efficient. The breakfast buffet was very good and the even granted special requests for food orders. The pool facilities were very nice. Overall, a pleasant experience.

Most enjoyable stay but I did ,ention to the management two things. 1. The pool is not refreshing as it s too hot. A reverse osmosis to cool the pool down to about 28-30 degrees would be very acceptable. 2. There are no post cards or stamps for sale. Tourists like to buy them and send them home.

very very hard to find, map on hotel site wrong in distance. when we arrive our room (most expensive room of hotel,village cottage) was near kitchen engines (noise and smell) and it will be very hard for change room with reception. manager.we pay 600 baths/night for extrabed for a 6 years child instead of hotel and sawadee notice (no charge for a 6 years child).

why sawadee charge an extra bed for a 6 years child ? but sawadee service was good if we don t think about this problem !!!

Unfortunately me and my family only had one night at Felix. We had a very nice time and would like to come back another time. I know it may seem toom uch to rate you perfect in all areas, but that is what I feel.

Dirty old hotel, rundown and smelly old carpets in the hallway. The bathroom was nasty,with water running from the toilet all over the floor. We werent the only one staying in the room, at night we could hear some kind of animal making noices. Maybe rats? we dont know. The breakfast had a lot to offer, if you re used to eating thaifood for breakfast that is. The staff looked friendly, however they couldn t speak so good english. When I asked for the internetcode I had to talk to 3 diffrent staffmembers until they understood what I wanted. Many things was below expectations, but the poolarea was very nice I must say.
